Short HELLO from a polar bear with a cold...

Hello everyone and sorry I haven't been updating my blog. First my children and now me have been struck by a really awful cold and I didn't get round to doing much. I managed to do my swaps and a couple of thank you cards for friends but I didn't take pictures as I just wanted to send them off and go back to bed.
Well, for Halloween I did make a few treat bags for the kids and took pictures and this evening I made my card for the Whiff of Joy challenge, but I have to retake the pictures as it was too dark. I'll post them anyway and will update them later.
Hope you'll like what I did and as soon as I am back to form I will hopefully get some crafting done and blogging to follow!
Happy Halloween everyone!

4.11.08 - Have now managed to take some proper pictures of the WoJ card... Willow with lantern is coloured with copics, background paper is done with PTI set Guide Lines, ribbon and button added as well as a sentiment button. Hope you like it!

Blog candy give away!

Juliet over at Juliet Paper Palace is giving away some lovely blog candy to celebrate 10000 hits! Congratulations Juliet and I hope I win, your candy is yummy!!!

Whiff of Joy sketch challenge

I really like those challenges, makes me do things I normally don't and I am most of the time really pleased with the results. This time I made another card for a Whiff of Joy sketch challenge. The Sketch looks like this:

Obviously you have to use a Whiff of Joy stamp and I chose the lovely Willow carrying cookies again, it is just so sweet! Papers are by K & Co. and the sentiment from PTI, the buttons are from my stash and the ribbon is salvaged from some clothing.

I cut out the double sided tag with a spellbinder die on my cuttlebug and used some foam pads to slightly lift it from the backing paper.

The scalloped edges are cut with my Woodware papertrimmer with fancy edge blades and I used my Crop-a-dile to punch the holes in the scallops.

Willow is coloured in with distress inks and Highlights are done with a white gel pen. I also used a sponge and more distress ink to age the image a little.

For the first time I've done the inside of the card as well and quite like the effect of everything being tied in together.

Thank you for looking and hope to see you soon again on my blog!

Magnolia challenge on DC and some christmas vibes...

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by my little blog!
Over on DoCrafts the weekly Magnolia challenge this week is 3-2-1 - using 3 colours (plus fleshtones), 2 brads, buttons or eyelets and 1 ribbon.
I chose a brow/green/pink scheme with pink eyelets and ribbon with all three colours in. I coloured Tilda with broom using distress inks and a waterbrush and layered some Basic Grey Sultry papers that I aged a bit with distress ink as well. The sentiment is a stamp I designed myself.

I have been playing a little with some christmas images and papers as well and came up with this little card using Christmas Honey from Sugar Nellie and I coloured her with my trusty copics.
Papers are from Basic Grey again, Figgy Pudding range, ribbon is from Anitas, sentiment from Whiff of Joy.

Oh, and if you stop by the lovely Lauras blog here, you'll see she has a new header... that I made for her. I think it turned out quite nice, even though it doesn't quite fit *lol*
Thanks for stopping by today and please let me know you've been by leaving a comment, it makes my day!

My card for the Whiff of Joy challenge

This card is for the Whiff of Joy challenge with an autumn theme. I think the greens and browns are quite autumny and I love this image!
Papers are from DCWV Old world Stack, image obviously WoJ, sentiment and twill ribbon from papertreyink, swirls from a Quickkutz die.
I coloured with distress inks and highlights are white gel pen.
Thanks for stopping by and I am grateful for your comments!

DC Magnolia challenge and a get well card

Good afternoon everyone! I have finally managed to make and take a picture of a card! It is for the Magnolia challenge over on do crafts and the brief is to create a card with a love theme, heart(s) and using the colour red. I finished my card this morning only to realize afterwards I had stuck it down on the wrong side *doh* I seem to be making a lot of mistakes lately! The ribbon Tilda sits on is from the Ikea christmas range and I really like it!

I also managed to make a quick get well card, nothing special but for a quick one not too bad, I think...

Thanks for stopping by my blog and do leave a comment so I know you've been here and I can repay the favour!

I got an award!!!!

The lovely Lesley of http://pinklesdreams.blogspot.com has kindly given me this award! Wow, I am well chuffed! Thanks so much!

The rule is to give it to only 6 blogging friends which is really hard, as there are so many great people out there with amazing blogs! I decided to choose the blogs I have been following (secretly *hehe*) for some time, without even having my own yet.
Had to pick though, so here goes:

Well, anyone who was expecting a few cards.... SORRY! I managed to get on top of my list and do loads of cards and in my eagerness to get them sent to al those waiting people I put them in the envelopes... and yes, you guessed it, forgot to take a picture first *DOH!*
I will have to get making some more then I think, so I'll have something to show....

Busy weekend...

Hello and a good start to the week to everyone!
I have been busy this weekend. Had to make two christening cards for an order.

I also wanted to finish some cards for do crafts friends. One of them is also my entry for the current Magnolia challenge, set by Julie. The brief was to create a shabby chic/distressed card using a Tilda/Edwin and incorporate something that is NOT from your normal card making stash. I don't feel comfortable with the distressed look yet but it was fun to do. I used an old lock from our front door and inked away, sanded some coredinations cardstock that I had embossed. Tilda is watercoloured with Marvy le Plume pens.

Here are the other cards I managed to make last night. Hope you like them!

This next one is going to a special do crafts friend together with some craft goodies that I am sure she will use to great effect!

An award, a tag and the hedgehog... (oh and two cards as well...)

The award is called the Wylde Women Award and its purpose is to send love to and acknowledge women who brighten your day, teach you new things and live their lives fully with generosity and joy.

The lovely Kathleen gave the award to me and the rules are like this:

1. You can give it to one or one hundred or any number in between

2.Make sure you link to their site

3. Link back to Tammy at http://www.tammyvitale.com so she can visit all these great women

4. Remember the purpose of the award

So, here goes, I award it to

Julie(again, I know...)

Please check them out, they are all amazing!

I have also been tagged by Joey!
The rules are:

1. Link your tagger and list the rules on your blog
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names and links to their blog
4. Let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog

So, now I have to tell you some facts...
1: I LOVE childrens books... Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl, Eragon, The Narnia Chronicles... just love it!
2: I am a real foodie. Love to eat and love to cook, bake, prepare food. Hmmmm....
3: Harmony above everything (well, almost everything), I do all I can to keep everything and everyone around me happy
4: Addiction to rubber stamps... Cannot resist buying them!
5: This is weird but unfortunately true.... I love squeezing my O/H blackheads... or my own, but I don't get that many...
6: I'm a gadget girl. I love technical stuff like fancy phones, computers, cameras or any new crafting gadget.
7: Ironing is not my forte... in fact I don't do it! Hubby does his own shirts, anything else waits until it is desperately needed or hubby does it *g*

and the people I am tagging are:

-----------------------------------------

Today I found a little hedgehog on the street in front of our neighbours house. He didn't seem to well as he didn't run away when I came over to have a look. He seemed a bit lost and confused and after getting him some earthworms and moving him to the safety of our garden I phoned the RSPCA and local vets. I brought him over to the vets after being told they would check if he is ok and if not could help him by sending him to an animal hospital. He is fine apart from being a bit weak and not weighing enough so they kept him. I am happy that he is well cared for now!

And this is him...

-----------------------------------------------

Well, I also did a few cards lately for Do Crafters. One was for the October Friendship swap and it has a Halloween theme. The other one is a wallet card and is going to a swap partner, not sure which one yet *hehe*
First, here is the Halloween card, which I rather like:

The other card was also my entry for the Winter Wonderland Tilda challenge over on Do Crafts and I really like it!

Thanks for stopping by on my blog today and hope you like it!
