Quick couple of cards...

I made these the other day and I quite like them. Tried a bit of distressing edges on the Tilda card and the other was to use up some scraps I had and try out a tip I saw online about using the 5-petal flower punch from SU to make different flowers. I liked it a lot, very easy to do and you wouldn't know it is from the same punch...
And I noticed that my Versafine inkpad has taken a beating. I forgot to put the lid back on a few nights ago and only replaced it the next morning *oops* and now it won't stamp that well anymore. Might have to buy a new one which is unfortunate, I am on a buying ban until I complete 50 cards! So far I have 6...
Well here they are, hope you like them:

I used Basic Grey "Urban Prairie" papers, Sizzix leaf stem die, Nestabilities Labels 3, Papermania brad, Craftworkcards dome paper circles and a sentiment from a set by My sentiments exactly (You can see my Versafine packing up there...)

I used the Urban Prairie papers again for this, edges distressed, Tilda image is coloured with pencils and blended with Sansador, flowers are Prima and attached with Papermania brads, a charm from my stash is hanging by a chain from one. The butterflies are cut out of a sheet of the paper and I added some faux stitching.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Just Magnolia challenge...

The Just Magnolia challenge blog has launched with a fab prize for their first sketch challenge! I thought I give it a go as the sketch is really lovely.

I did turn the sketch on it's head but I think it works just as well that way.
And this is my card...

Hope you like it, I am quite pleased with it. I used Basic Greys Scarlett's letter paper, a patterned card blank I got sent so unfortunately I don't know the make, some Prima flowers with bead spacers and brads for the centers, Bazzil Basic and Bazzil Bling for the base, ribbon is from stash, sentiment from Hero Arts clear Design set stamped in Versafine Vintage Sepia, Tilda is coloured with Copics.
Thanks for looking!

OMG - I won my very first blog candy!!!

I couldn't believe it when I saw this, I won something!!! I have never won a blog candy before and was kinda resigned to not win any ever (I still like doing them, they are fun!) but now the lovely Denise pulled my name out of the hat for her blog candy! I am over the moon! :-)

While speaking of blog candy, keep coming back to my blog, my next candy is due to be on here very soon as most of the goodies I ordered for this very special candy are here with me now!

A few new cards and projects in the making

Good morning everyone!
Had a really fun evening with the Stampers ten yesterday! Lovely girls and we made a sweet card and tag that was quite different from my usual style so I will hang on to that for a while to hopefully make me venture out of my comfort zone a bit.
I have been a busy bee yesterday and on the weekend as well so have a few cards and an unfinished project to share with you. Any suggestions for improving the later are gratefully received!

But here goes:

This card was a comissioned first birthday card for a little girl. The lady I did this for doesn't like images on the cards very much which is always a bit of a challenge for me. I used Basic Grey Cupcake papers, Distress ink in Fired Brick and PTI sets "Bitty Baby Blessings" and "Simple Alphabet" and finished with Stickles and red Half Pearls.

For this card (also comissioned) I used PTIs "Life" set and Pebbles Inc Ribbon, Ballet Blue and Fresh Snow ink on SU cardstock. Quite simple but I like it...

This card is for the spotty Tilda Challenge over on DoCrafts. I made the spotty papers with PTI set "Polka Dot Basics" and punched and shaped flowers from the same paper. You can't really tell from the picture, but the base card is chocolate brown. We had to use three colours on the card and I chose chocolate brown, pink and green. Not so sure if I overdid the spottiness of the card a bit *lol*
I used Nestabilities curved rectangles, a Tilda (obviously...)that I coloured with copics, my own paper creations were made with SU in Regal Rose, Versafine in Vintage Sepia and Antique Linen Distress Ink. Flower Punches are Woodware and Circle Punch for the centers is SU circle in 3/4". The sentiment is a "Innie & Outie" from My Sentiments exactly.
Hope you like my creations and for a better view try to click on them!
Last but not least a desktop organizer I created using a "Timeless Template" by Lauren Meader for PTI. I assembled it and added Basic Grey "Scarlett Letter" papers but am not sure yet on what embellishments to use. But I think it looks great already! Have for the moment put divider cards in and might use it to organise my addresses, but also noticed it is a perfect fit for 6 x 6 lose papers. Might need to do more of these...

Thanks for visiting and have a beautiful day!

Awards... waheee!

:-) Nearly forgot, I got some awards, too...
Need to go and do some tidying as Jan is coming for a playdate tomorrow (yeah!! Looking forward to seeing her again!) so keep this short, will pass it on later...
Got this

from Aunty Sue, thanks, you are a Sweetheart!!
And Sassy got me this:

Lovely of you, thank you! I already got this, so won't pass it on this time, hope that is ok...

Also, the lovely Julie passed this on to me:

Thanks, hun!! Also had this before so I hope it's ok not to pass it on again.

Have a lovely day, all!

A little secret and a couple of new cards

There's me again and I am bursting with excitement... I have ordered myself some lovely goodies from the US that hopefully will arrive soon and as I had a little "free" space in my parcel I got one extra bit that I will be giving away as a blog candy soon. I will add a few other little bits as well but the main thing is....

*drumroll please*

a brandspanking new set of the Octagon Nestabilities from Spellbinders! I just love all things Nestie and can't wait for my parcel to arrive and to start the blog candy!
I have decided that it will be a candy with a twist and you'll have to work a little to be able to win it, but more to that later.
Now I also have two new cards I want to show you and I am quite proud of how one of them turned out. The other one is ok I guess, but not great, but I love the one I made with my new Papertreyink set "Life". It was inspired by Debbie from Thinking inking who used a similar way of colours and layout and I kind of borrowed the idea but hopefully made it my own, it is not a complete copy anyway. If you fancy a look at her fab card, it's here and it's obviously much better than mine. But I still like my take ;-)

I used the large plain rectangle Nestie to emboss and stamped the image with Marvy Le Plume pens directly onto the cardstock, then went over with Buttercup Yellow Copic for the background which is airbrushed. The sentiment is PTI as well but from the "Mixed messages" set. Finally I cut two slits in the embossed bit and threaded two ribbons through and tied the white one in a knot. Simple but effective if I might say so myself...

This card is a challenge that my friend Jan set me. She sent me the image (together with some more and a lovely letter) and challenged me to make something out of it. I really like the strawberry image and coloured it with Distress inks. The card base is a linen textured dark green card I stamped with dots from PTIs "Polka Dot Basics" set in Vintage Cream ink. The sentiment is from the PTI Anniversary set 2008 which I cut with a circle punch and put behind red and cream ribbon. Hope you like it!

As always, comments are very welcome! Thanks!

Quick show of a few old cards...

Hello there again, no I wasn't lost in space or something like that, just very busy with an alteration to our house. I have actually forgotten to upload a few cards I did a while ago, so this is just to update and I will keep it sweet and short. Any questions, please just ask but I won't go into details right now as I have more to tell you and can't wait to get to the next post where I will let you in on a secret *g*

So here just a few pics...
